Blankets of Love - 7:00 PM
Blankets of love is compromised of Temple Emanu-El congregants who meet monthly at the Temple to knot and crochet blankets to present to the campers at Camp Happy Times, a free one-week overnight camp for children who have or have had cancer. For more information, see our Social Action Page

Erev Shabbat Service is the cornerstone of worship at Temple Emanu-El. The service is a mix of traditional and new melodies and prayers, prayers for healing, and a sermon by one of our Rabbis. The Reichman family honors the memory of their beloved daughter Mandy with this weekly Mitzvah project. Bagged lunches of sandwiches, fruit, and desserts are prepared. Each Wednesday, our truck visits a neighborhood in Elizabeth, where families have learned they can count on us for help. See more Social Action Programs.

Zimrat Shabbat/Social Justice Shabbat/Gilbert Award - 7:45 PM 
Our synagogue gives out the Harris and Sally Gilbert Social Justice Award to an organization that is impacting change in our community and around the world. Harris and Sally Gilbert were deeply involved in Tikkun Olam work at our congregation and in our community and were Social Justice leaders in the Reform Movement. This year we will be giving the award to the Anti-Defamation League, Joshua Cohen the Director of ADL in New Jersey and a new member of our congregation will accept the award.

Looking for a good book to read? Come join us for one of our lively book club discussions. Meetings generally take place at 7:30 PM in the Fritz and Edith Library. Be on the lookout for announcements in the weekly eblasts. The Book Club has chosen Orphan's Tale by Pan Jenoff for this book discussion.
