About Our Program
Temple Emanu-El’s Early Childhood Education Program is designed to promote emotional, social, physical and cognitive growth for all children enrolled in the school. Each child is unique and has something special to offer. Our school's well-balanced programs meet the need of the whole child according to his/her age and individual progress. We believe that creative play is the language of learning and children learn through play.
Our program strives to provide a variety of services to children and their families which include:
- To provide a safe and enriching environment for children from 13 months through Kindergarten age.
- To foster a positive self-image through a warm, play-centered environment that is healthy, safe, and secure.
- To offer creative play and constructive, developmentally appropriate instruction as part of the daily routine.
- To provide every opportunity for growth and learning for each child. Children learn through interaction with other children and adults. They also learn through individual exploration, a variety of activities and materials and consistent love and guidance.
- To nurture the development of a strong, positive, Jewish identity and a love for Judaism.
- To develop a reinforcing relationship between teachers and children where
- teachers strive to understand and accept each child’s feelings and thoughts.
- To develop a binding partnership between parents and teachers.
- To help parents understand the methods and goals of our school experience and work together to enhance the development of their children.
Our Early Childhood program continues to create new and innovative developmentally appropriate activities and offerings. We are proud to be accredited by NAEYC’s National Academy for Early Childhood Programs.
