Lifelong Learning // Intergenerational Learning

Overview

“Intergenerational learning” refers to programs during which children have the opportunity to learn from parents and other adults in our community. At Temple Emanu-El, we believe that the adults in our congregation (and even some of our older children) should be teachers of Torah to our children. By bringing adults and children together to learn about, and celebrate, their Judaism, we hope to ensure that our heritage will be passed joyfully on to the next generation.  We offer intergenerational programs in our Religious School curriculum and as part of holiday celebrations; we also offer a yearly family retreat and many worship opportunities that are appropriate for people of all ages.

We truly believe that Jewish children learn best when they see the adults around them engaged in lifelong Jewish learning that is relevant, challenging, and inspiring.
