Mitzvah Mission to New Orleans
January 14 - 18, 2009, Rabi Doberne-Schor led the Temple Emanu-El Mitzvah Mission to New Orleans
The purpose of the trip was to:
- Make a difference
- Help rebuild the city of New Orleans
- Engage in hands-on volunteer work
- Share a Shabbat experience
- Connect with the Jewish community and some of the people who are working to rebuild the city
- Learn first-hand about tikkun olam
- Experience some of New Orleans culture and cuisine
