Taste of Memories was created by Eden Kohali, past Shlicha in Minnesota in the last 2 years, to connect the Jewish community to Yom Hazikaron in Israel in a special way. Participants prepare the food and hear the story behind the recipes of families who carry on without their loved ones who were lost during their army service or in terrorist attacks.
Matan Gotlib, aged 21 from Rishon LeZion, a fighter in the Maglan Unit, was killed during Operation Protective Edge.
Matan participated in DillerTeen Fellows NJ in 2009 he was also active in local community projects and his Tzofim Youth Group in Israel. Matan loved to travel and meet new people; he had a deep connection with the people of Israel and New Jersey.
Matan is part of Greater MetroWest and it is very important to share his story and heritage to our community.
