Each year Temple Emanu-El publishes a Yom Kippur Book of Remembrance that contains the names of beloved departed members of our families whose memories we cherish and wish to honor at this sacred time.
Nothing is the same this year as it was in years past, and this year our Book of Remembrance will be distributed to the congregation electronically. However, if you would like a hard copy please let us know and a copy will be mailed to you.
If the names of your loved ones were listed in last year’s Book of Remembrance you will receive a listing of their names in a separate email with instructions to either keep the list the same, or add other names to the list.
If your loved ones are to be listed for the first time this year, please click the button below and complete the requested form.
When we rise to recite the Kaddish on Monday, September 28 during our Yom Kippur services, or when you light a memorial candle in their memory on September 27, Erev Yom Kippur at home we will be strengthened as a community, as one congregational family.
May we recall our loved ones’ hugs and kisses and the love and affection they bestowed on us. May we recall their teachings and their examples that guide us even when they are not physically with us. May their memory be a blessing!
We would appreciate it if you could complete the online form no later than August 21to enable us to produce and email the Book of Remembrance to the congregation before the start of the High Holy Days on September 18.
A donation to the Temple in memory of your dear ones would be greatly appreciated.
