Rabbinic Intern Michael (Mikey) Mitgang
Michael (Mikey) Mitgang is a rising third-year rabbinical student at the Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City. He is originally from Princeton Junction, New Jersey, but moved with his family to Newtown, PA during high school. He graduated from Indiana University–Bloomington in 2021 where he received his BA in Jewish Studies and a Certificate in Liberal Arts & Management. In his teen years, Mikey held leadership positions in his NFTY region as well as served as the temple youth group president of his home synagogue. Mikey has been attending URJ Camp Harlam since he was seven years old and has been returning ever since! Mikey is currently a Nachshon Graduate Fellow where he participates in Jewish programming geared towards preparing Jewish leaders to lead Jewish communal life. During his free time, you can find Mikey listening to Taylor Swift, hanging out with his camp friends, and belting out showtunes. Mikey is so excited to serve the Temple Emanu-El community this year as their rabbinic intern!
