Shirel Richman, Cantorial Intern
Born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel, Shirel Richman is a fourth-year cantorial student at Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in New York.
Shirel has a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and an Advanced Certificate in Music Education from CUNY Brooklyn College. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the Buchman-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University. Shirel has taught Music, Hebrew Language and Judaic Studies in New York and Boston in Jewish Hebrew Day Schools. She worked as a soloist in the Israeli Opera’s Young Artists Program and she served as a “Musician of Excellence” in the Israel Defense Forces. She performed as a soloist in England, France, Switzerland, Austria, New York, Canada, and Israel.
Shirel is thrilled to be joining Temple Emanu-El of Westfield, NJ and create meaningful and holy moments through music, learning and prayer.
