6th Grade Hebrew instruction takes place in 45 minute Hebrew intensives. Hebrew instruction will focus on reading and prayer skills. Our learners focus on the b’nai mitzvah service as outlined in the Mishkan T’filah booklet.
NOTE: Individual prayer lessons in preparation for b’nai mitzvah readiness will begin approximately 4-6 months prior to your child’s date, and are coordinated by Joanne Pass, our B’nai Mitzvah Coordinator. These lessons are in addition to, not in lieu of, your child’s classroom learning. For more information about b’nai mitzvah, check out the b’nai mitzvah portal.
Our 6th and 7th Grade Judaic studies will take place Wednesdays during Nisayon. The focus is to create one unified community, students will learn Judaics from our team of teachers. Our program is hands-on and creative, exploring Jewish values, history, and heroes as they engage in exercises designed to build empathy, knowledge, and ethical problem-solving.
In addition to the above, our Nisayon students have the chance to participate in family programs and Shabbat experiences that complement the core curriculum. This creates a sacred community of learners in which our children develop their own sense of Jewish identity building a connection with Jewish ritual and practice. Some programs are for 6th grade students only, some for 7th grade students only, and others offer a family the opportunity to learn and celebrate together. A detailed calendar of events will be sent out via email.

7th Grade Hebrew instruction takes place in 45 minute Hebrew intensives. Hebrew instruction will focus on reading and prayer skills. Our learners focus on the B’nei Mitzvah service as outlined in the Mishkan T’filah booklet. This is optional. You need not sign up for a Hebrew pod if you do not want them, and you may stop mid-year if your need ends with a simple email. These pods do not affect tuition in any way.
