The program and services will be held at Congregation Beth Israel, 1920 Cliffwood Street, Scotch Plains. Livestreaming will be available.
Every Rosh Hashanah tens of thousands of Jews descend upon the city of Uman, 130 miles south of Kiev, to visit the grave of Nachman of Breslov. Unfortunately because of the current war in Ukraine the number of visitors will be fewer than in years past. Join us for a Community-Wide S’lichot Program and Service as we prepare for the High Holy Days and share Hasidic stories from Ukraine and the stories of Ukrainian Jews today. We will be joined by Gary Aidekman, JDC Board Member, who will update us on the work that the JDC is doing in Ukraine and the support they are giving to refugees. Learn how we can continue to support the Ukrainian Jewish community during these Yaamin Noraim.
