Honor the Memory of the 6 Million on Yom HaShoah
Our Congregation will remember the 6 million Jews that were murdered in the Holocaust with a ceremony that will last the entire day. From 9 AM – 7 PM we continually recite names of Holocaust victims in front of our synagogue. Please sign up for a 15-minute time block to volunteer to read names or stop by throughout the day to remember and reflect on the atrocities of Holocaust. At 7:00 PM we will move into the sanctuary and have the opportunity to remember our own family members that were killed in the Holocaust.
Lovers in Auschwitz
On Yom HaShoah, we commemorate the millions of Jews massacred by the Nazis and reflect on the stories of Holocaust survivors. During this year’s evening service at Temple Emanu-El Rabbi Appell will interview Keren Blankfeld, noted journalist and author of “Lovers in Auschwitz—A True Story, ” just released in January 2024.
